From her teenage years, Erin Scherger has enjoyed helping others experience those amazing “a-ha” moments as they discover something new about the world or within themselves.
In 2005, she discovered yoga while looking for an activity to lighten her spirit and simultaneously help her recover from illness and surgery. She fell in love with the practice, and completed her 200-hour Teacher Training in 2010. Particularly interested in spine and joint issues because of her own limitations, she took a back care workshop with Elise Miller in 2011 and then completed her training as a Yoga for Scoliosis trainer in 2012.
Erin teaches at the Health Advantage Yoga Center in Herndon, VA, for various recreational centers and sports clubs in the area, and is also available for private instruction. Drawing on her past experiences as a competitive figure-skater and natural childbirth educator, Erin encourages students to tune in, find their inner strength, and move mindfully. In her light-hearted manner, she particularly enjoys guiding students to postures and practices which decrease pain and improve their sense of well-being.
