I started doing yoga in 1971. Throughout my college studies of anatomy and physiology I learned that pain in my back was not a normal way of life.Yoga would help my back during those early years of discovering that I had hereditary scoliosis , but it was not until my own daughter was diagnosed with a 40 degree curvature that I began searching for a scoliosis class and began working thru my own imbalances.
Inspired by readings of the healing powers of a yoga practice and meditation I took years of classes with many senior yoga teachers and gratefully found Elyse Browning Miller “Yoga for Scoliosis”.
Today, I teach Yoga at Southwestern Illinois College, in Belleville, Illinois (20 min.from St.Louis) at St.Clare of Assisi of O’Fallon,Illinois and private classes in my Home Studio(O’Fallon). I have a Biology degree ( Anatomy/Physiology Emphasis) and Graduate studies in Public Health Administration. Teaching exercise classes since 1972. Worked in hospitals/clinics as a Phlebotomist and an E.K.G.Tech.,E.P.A.Lab.,Physiology Researcher(S.IU.-C) and the public health field(Enviromental Health Specialist)for 30 years.
